Text: Matthew 8:17
Theme: Christ Our Compassionate Burden-Bearer.
"Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."
Introduction.
Matthew explains that Jesus' healing ministry fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy concerning the suffering Servant. Christ entered fully into human suffering and ultimately bore our greatest burden—our sin—through His death and resurrection.
1. Jesus Identifies with Human Suffering.
Our Lord understands pain, grief, weakness, and sorrow because He experienced life in our fallen world.

2. Christ Bore Our Greatest Need.
The cross addresses humanity's deepest problem—sin and separation from God. Through Him we receive forgiveness and reconciliation.

3. Christ Shows Compassion to the Afflicted.
Throughout His earthly ministry Jesus welcomed those whom others rejected.

4. We Can Bring Every Burden to Him
Whether our struggle is physical, emotional, or spiritual, Christ invites us to cast our cares upon Him.
Texts: 1 Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6–7.
Lessons:
•Bring your suffering honestly before Christ.
•Trust His wisdom whether He grants immediate relief or sustaining grace.
•Comfort others with the comfort you have received from God.
•Remember that our ultimate hope is the resurrection.
Conclusion
Jesus is not distant from our pain. He is our compassionate High Priest who walks with His people through every trial.
Invitation
Receive the forgiveness and hope found only in Jesus Christ.
Closing Prayer.
"Lord Jesus, thank You for sharing in our suffering and bearing our sins. Strengthen us to trust You through every trial until the day You make all things new. Amen."
