Prepare the Way for God's Salvation

Topic :Prepare the Way for God's Salvation

Text: "Thus says the LORD, 'Preserve justice, and do the right; for my salvation is about to come, and my righteousness is ready to be revealed.'" — Isaiah 56:1

Introduction.
Isaiah 56 marks a transition from God's promises of redemption to the lifestyle expected of those who await His salvation. God is not merely interested in people who talk about faith; He desires people who live by His standards. Before His salvation is fully revealed, He commands His people to live justly and righteously.

This message remains relevant today as we await the glorious return of Jesus Christ. The best preparation for God's coming is a life of obedience.

1. God's Command: "Preserve Justice"
Justice means treating others fairly, honestly, and with integrity. God's people are to defend the weak, reject corruption, and uphold truth in every area of life.

A believer who practices injustice while claiming to know God contradicts the very character of the God he serves.

Micah 6:8 reminds us: "He has shown you, O man, what is good... to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

2. God's Requirement: "Do the Right"
Righteousness is more than knowing what is right; it is practicing what is right. True faith is demonstrated by daily obedience.

Our homes, workplaces, businesses, and churches should reflect God's righteousness. Every decision should honor Him.

Jesus said, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

3. God's Promise: "My Salvation is about to Come"
God's command is accompanied by a wonderful promise. His salvation was ultimately revealed in Jesus Christ, and one day Christ will return in glory to complete that salvation.

Those who patiently live in obedience will not be disappointed. God's promises never fail.

4. God's Righteousness will be Revealed
God's righteousness will one day be openly displayed. Every hidden act will be exposed, every injustice judged, and every faithful servant rewarded.

Therefore, believers should remain steadfast, holy, and faithful while waiting for the Lord.

Illustration
A king announced that he would visit a village without revealing the exact day. Some villagers cleaned their homes only when they heard rumors of his arrival. Others kept their homes clean every day because they wanted to be ready whenever he came. When the king finally arrived unexpectedly, only those who lived in constant readiness were prepared to welcome him.

Likewise, Christ calls us to live every day in justice and righteousness because His coming will not be announced in advance.

Practical Application
•Examine your life for areas where justice is lacking.

•Choose integrity even when no one is watching.

•Live each day in expectation of Christ's return.

•Let your conduct reflect the righteousness of God.

Conclusion:
Isaiah 56:1 teaches that God's people must not merely anticipate His salvation—they must prepare for it by living lives marked by justice and righteousness. Obedience does not earn salvation, but it demonstrates that we belong to the God who saves.

The question is not simply, "Are you waiting for God?" but, "Are you living in a way that shows you are ready for Him?"

Altar Call
If your life has drifted from God's standards, today is the day to return to Him. Jesus Christ offers forgiveness, new life, and the power to live righteously. Surrender your heart to Him, commit yourself to walking in His ways, and be ready for His glorious appearing.

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help us to preserve justice and do what is right in every area of our lives. Purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and prepare us for the day when Your righteousness will be fully revealed. May our lives bring glory to Your name as we faithfully await the return of our Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
