PRAYERS FOR REDEMPTION

1. DO IN MY LIFE TODAY

 what you have never done since the world began in Jesus name. 

2. Let my life CHANGE suddenly for the better and let my miracle remain permanent in Jesus name.

3. For the rest of my life, I will never know sorrow, failure, affliction, retrogression again in Jesus name. Let negativity become stranger to me in Jesus name. 

4. Like you did for Peter,

 Lord of lords; fulfill all your promises in my life today in Jesus name. 

5. Let the power to perform exploits for your glory enter into me today in Jesus name. 

6. Take me away permanently from the company of the poor,

 sinners and low achievers by the power of your anointing Lord Jesus. 

7. Let my benefactor not rest until he or she locates me for my blessings in Jesus name. 

8. Make me unstoppable for success, promotion, good tidings and other blessings, all for your exaltation and glorification, Lord Jesus. 

9. Let my liberation be total and irreversible in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. 

10. Redeem me for glory, elevation, greatness, prosperity,

 service tohumanity, leadership etc in the glorious name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

LOOK AND LIVE

The Lifted Savior

Text: John 3:14

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.”

Sermon Title:

“Look and Live”

Introduction

In this profound statement, Jesus draws a powerful parallel between an Old Testament event and His redemptive mission. He points back to Numbers 21, when the Israelites were dying from fiery serpent bites. God instructed Moses to lift up a bronze serpent, and whoever looked lived.

Now Jesus says, “Even so must the Son of man be lifted up.”

This was not optional—it was divine necessity. Humanity was dying from the poison of sin, and heaven’s remedy would be the lifting up of Christ on the cross.

The message is simple, yet eternal: Look and live.

1. Sin requires a Sacrifice

The Israelites were bitten because of their sin—complaining against God. Likewise, humanity is under the deadly sting of sin.

Sin is not just a mistake; it is a fatal condition.

Its consequence is death—spiritual and eternal (Romans 6:23).

In the wilderness, God did not remove the serpents immediately—He provided a remedy.

In the same way, God did not ignore sin—He addressed it through sacrifice.

Jesus being “lifted up” speaks of the cross—where He became the sacrifice for sin.

*Not silver or gold

*Not human effort

But the precious blood of Christ

👉 Without sacrifice, there is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22).

2. Healing Comes by Looking in Faith

God’s instruction in the wilderness was unusual: “Look and live.”

Not fight the serpent

Not treat the wound

Not earn healing

Just look.

This required faith. Imagine someone saying, “How can looking at a bronze serpent heal me?” Yet those who looked lived, and those who refused died.

So it is with Christ:

*Salvation is not by works

*Not by religion

*Not by self-effort

It is by looking in faith to the crucified Savior.

Isaiah declared: “Look unto me, and be ye saved…” (Isaiah 45:22)

To “look” means:

*To trust completely

*To depend wholly

*To fix your gaze on Christ alone

👉 You don’t analyze your healing—you receive it by faith.

3. The Cross Is God’s Answer to Death

The lifting up of Jesus points directly to the cross.

The cross is not an accident—it is God’s eternal plan.

At the cross:

*Sin was judged

*Justice was satisfied

*Mercy was released

What the serpent represented (death), Christ conquered (life).

Where death once reigned, grace now reigns.

Jesus said in John 12:32:

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

The cross stands as:

*God’s answer to sin

*God’s cure for death

*God’s invitation to all humanity

👉 Death does not have the final word—the cross does.

Illustration

In the wilderness, looking healed the bitten.

At the cross, believing saves the broken.

One look brought life then.

One look of faith still brings life today.

Key Truth

👉 Faith looks; grace saves.

Conclusion

The message of the gospel is not complicated—it is clear:

You have been bitten by sin.

Christ has been lifted for your salvation.

The question is not whether the provision is available—

The question is: Will you look?

Today, you may be wounded by sin, burdened by guilt, or facing spiritual death. You don’t need to fix yourself—you need to look to Jesus.

*Look away from your works

*Look away from your past

*Look unto the Savior who was lifted up for you

As the Israelites looked and lived, so you too can look and live—right now.

Say this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I believe You were lifted up for my sins. I look to You today. Forgive me, cleanse me, and give me new life. I receive Your salvation by faith. Amen.”

If you have prayed this prayer, you have looked—and by His grace, you now live.

“FROM CLEANSING TO CREATION

Text: John 3:5
“Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit…”

Introduction

When Jesus spoke these words to Nicodemus, He was not introducing religion—He was revealing transformation. Nicodemus was a learned man, religious, disciplined, and morally upright, yet Jesus told him plainly: it is not enough.

Many today stand where Nicodemus stood—close to truth, yet far from transformation. Church attendance, good morals, and religious activity cannot produce spiritual life. Jesus makes it clear: there must be a birth—a spiritual beginning.

This birth has two dimensions: cleansing and creation. You cannot step into a new life until the old is dealt with, and you cannot remain empty after cleansing—you must be filled with God’s life.

1. “Born of Water” – Cleansing from Sin

Jesus begins with “born of water,” pointing to an inward cleansing. This is not about outward rituals or ceremonies—it is about a deep, internal washing.

Sin stains the heart, clouds the conscience, and separates man from God. Before God brings growth, He removes guilt. Before He builds, He cleans.

Too many people try to grow spiritually without first being cleansed. They decorate a life that still carries hidden corruption. But God does not renovate a dirty vessel—He washes it first.

Cleansing is God’s act of forgiveness. It is when He removes the weight of sin, breaks its hold, and purifies the heart. Until this happens, there can be no true spiritual progress.

2. “Born of the Spirit” – New Life from God

Cleansing alone is not the end—it is the beginning. Jesus goes further: “and of the Spirit.”

The Spirit of God does not come to repair your old nature—He comes to replace it. Salvation is not self-improvement; it is divine transformation.

When the Spirit enters a life, something supernatural happens. New desires are formed. Old appetites lose their power. A new identity begins to emerge.

This is what it means to be born again—God breathes His life into your spirit. What was once dead becomes alive. What was once empty becomes filled.

You are no longer just a better version of yourself—you become a new creation altogether.

Illustration

Think of a dirty glass. It is not enough to polish the outside while the inside remains filthy. No matter how shiny it looks externally, what it contains is still contaminated.

The solution is not polishing—it is pouring clean water inside and washing it thoroughly.

In the same way, God does not focus on outward appearance alone. He cleanses the inside and then fills it with something new. He doesn’t just improve behavior—He transforms the heart.

*Forgiveness cleans you; the Spirit recreates you.

Conclusion

Jesus’ message is simple yet profound: you must be born again. Not partially changed, not externally adjusted, but completely transformed.

Cleansing without the Spirit leaves you empty. The Spirit without cleansing has no place to dwell. But when both come together, a new life begins—a life that reflects God Himself.

This is not something you can achieve by effort. It is something you receive by surrender.

Today, the question is not: Are you religious?
The question is: Have you been cleansed? Have you been made new?

Are you still trying to fix your life from the outside while your heart remains unchanged? Jesus is calling you to something deeper—a total transformation.

If you are ready to be cleansed from sin and filled with the Spirit…
If you are ready to move from who you were into who God created you to be…

Then come before Him now in surrender.

Say:
“Lord, cleanse me from my sin. Wash my heart.
Fill me with Your Spirit. Make me new.
I surrender my life to You today in Jesus’ name.”

Believe that your journey from cleansing to creation has begun.

WHEN GOD MOVES IS BEYOND MAN'S CONTROL

Text: John 3:8 — “The wind bloweth where it listeth…”

Introduction

There is something deeply unsettling about what we cannot control. As human beings, we are wired to organize, predict, and manage outcomes. We like systems, schedules, and certainty. Yet Jesus, in His conversation with Nicodemus, introduces a reality that defies human control—the work of the Spirit of God.

He compares the Spirit to the wind: invisible, uncontrollable, yet undeniably powerful. This truth confronts our desire for control and calls us into a life of surrender. When God moves, He does not consult human permission or follow human patterns. He moves according to His will, His wisdom, and His purpose.

1. Unseen but Real – The Spirit’s Work

Jesus says the wind “bloweth where it listeth,” meaning it moves as it pleases. You cannot see the wind itself, but you cannot deny its existence. In the same way, the Spirit of God is not visible to the natural eye, yet His presence is unmistakably real.

The Spirit works in hearts quietly—convicting, cleansing, renewing, and drawing men to God. You may not see the moment a heart changes, but you will see the evidence over time. A life once bound in sin begins to hunger for righteousness. A hardened heart becomes tender. A proud soul learns humility.

God’s greatest works are often invisible before they become visible. The Spirit operates beyond human observation, but never without divine intention.

2. Unpredictable but Purposeful – God Is Sovereign

The wind does not ask for permission before it blows, and neither does the Spirit of God. His movements cannot be programmed, predicted, or packaged. He does not move according to human expectations or religious routines.

This can be uncomfortable, especially for those who prefer structure over surrender. But what may seem unpredictable to us is always purposeful in God’s plan. He knows where to move, when to move, and how to move.

God may interrupt your plans, redirect your path, or challenge your assumptions. What feels like disruption is often divine direction. The Spirit’s work is never random—it is always rooted in God’s sovereign will.

3. Unstoppable – When God Breathes, Lives Change

When the wind blows, nothing in its path remains unaffected. Trees bend, dust rises, and the environment responds. In the same way, when the Spirit of God moves, lives are transformed.

No force on earth can stop what God has ordained. No resistance of man can silence the voice of the Spirit forever. When God breathes upon a person, change becomes inevitable.

Chains break. Habits shift. Desires are renewed. What human effort could not accomplish, the Spirit does effortlessly. This is the power of divine transformation—unstoppable, undeniable, and irreversible.

Illustration

You can’t see the wind, but you see trees bend and dust move. You hear its sound and feel its force. Its presence is proven by its effects.

Likewise, you can’t see the Spirit of God, but when He moves, evidence appears. A life that was once broken becomes whole. A person once lost finds direction. A heart once distant from God begins to burn with love for Him.

The proof of the Spirit is not in visibility, but in transformation.

Conclusion

The message of Jesus in John 3:8 is clear: the Spirit of God cannot be controlled, contained, or commanded by man. He moves freely, powerfully, and purposefully.

Our role is not to manage Him but to respond to Him. Not to dictate His movement, but to discern it. Not to control His work, but to cooperate with it.

Many struggle spiritually because they are trying to control what God has called them to surrender. But life in the Spirit begins where control ends, and trust begins.

Altar Call

Today, God is calling you to release your grip on control and yield to His Spirit.

Perhaps you have been resisting His prompting—holding onto your plans, your habits, your fears. But the wind of God is blowing, and He is inviting you into something greater than you can manage on your own.

Will you surrender?

Will you allow the Spirit to move freely in your life?

Come before God today and say, “Lord, I yield. Not my will, but Yours be done.”

Because here is the truth:

*You don’t manage the Spirit—you surrender to Him.

And when you do, the wind of God will carry you into a life you could never create on your own.

Text: John 3:9 — “How can these things be?”

Introduction

There are moments in life when what we hear challenges everything we think we know. That was the moment Nicodemus found himself in. A learned man, a teacher, a religious authority—yet standing before Jesus, he asked a simple, honest question: “How can these things be?”

This was not a rebellion. This was not mockery. This was confusion—real, sincere confusion.

Many believers assume that faith means having no questions. But the truth is, faith often begins where understanding ends. Sometimes the first step toward deeper revelation is admitting, “Lord, I don’t understand.”

God is not offended by your questions. He is inviting you into deeper truth through them.

1. Confusion is not Rejection

Nicodemus did not walk away when he didn’t understand—he leaned in.

There is a difference between resisting truth and wrestling with it. Confusion says, “Help me understand.” Rejection says, “I refuse to believe.”

Many people silence their questions out of fear—fear of appearing weak, fear of being judged, fear of doubt. But God does not equate your confusion with unbelief.

Your questions do not disqualify you. In fact, they may be evidence that God is drawing you closer.

2. Questions can be Doorways to Revelation

Every sincere question opens the door for divine insight.

Nicodemus asked one question, and Jesus unfolded one of the greatest truths of all time—being born again. That moment of confusion became a gateway to spiritual revelation.

If Nicodemus had stayed silent, he might have missed the answer.

When you ask God questions with an open heart, you position yourself to receive answers that transform your life.

• Questions lead to seeking
• Seeking leads to finding
• Finding leads to transformation

Your confusion is not a dead end—it is a doorway.

3. God Honors Honest Seeking

God responds to sincerity.

Nicodemus came by night, perhaps unsure, perhaps cautious—but he came. And Jesus met him right there in his uncertainty.

God is not looking for perfect understanding; He is looking for honest hearts.

Scripture assures us:
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find…”

When your questions are genuine, heaven does not shut its doors—it opens them wider.

God honors the seeker, not just the one who already knows.

Illustration:

A child asks questions not because he doubts his parent, but because he trusts them.

“Why is the sky blue?”
“Where do stars come from?”
“How does this work?”

The child doesn’t ask to challenge authority—he asks because he believes his parent has the answer.

In the same way, when we ask God questions, it is not a sign of distrust—it is a sign of relationship. We believe He knows, and we trust Him enough to ask.

Conclusion

Nicodemus’ question echoes in many hearts today: “How can these things be?”

And the answer is this: God is not threatened by your sincere questions. He welcomes them.

Your confusion does not push God away—it can draw Him nearer.

Faith is not the absence of questions; it is the courage to bring those questions to God.

Today, you may find yourself in a place of uncertainty.

• You’ve heard the truth, but you don’t fully understand it
• You feel drawn to God, but you have questions
• You’re searching, but you’re unsure of the next step

God is saying to you: “Come anyway.”

Don’t let confusion keep you away from Christ. Let it lead you to Him.

If you are ready to move from confusion to clarity, from questioning to encounter, from searching to finding—this is your moment.

Lift your heart to God and say:

“Lord, I don’t understand everything—but I believe You.
Teach me, guide me, reveal Yourself to me.
I come to You with my questions, and I surrender my heart.
in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

*God is not threatened by sincere questions.

He uses them to lead you into deeper faith.

PRAYERS FOR OPEN HEAVENS

1. O LORD JESUS, be exalted in my life for this new day you made me to witness. I bless your name and glorify you for counting me worthy to be alive.

THE ONLY ONE QUALIFIED TO SAVE

 

 “The Only One Qualified to Save”

Text: John 3:12–13 – “If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

Introduction

Have you ever tried to understand something beyond your experience? Imagine trying to explain the taste of a mango to someone who has never eaten fruit. Or trying to describe the color red to someone who is blind from birth. Sometimes, our thinking is limited by what we have seen, touched, or experienced.

In John 3, Jesus confronts Nicodemus, a man of intellect and religious authority. Yet, even he struggles to grasp the mysteries of heaven with earthly reasoning. Jesus is reminding us today: Earthly thinking limits spiritual understanding.

Earthly Thinking Limits Spiritual Understanding

Nicodemus came at night, cautious and curious. He knew the law, the scriptures, and the traditions—but spiritual truths cannot be fully grasped by intellect alone. Heaven’s realities are vast and eternal; our human perspective is finite.

We often try to solve spiritual problems with earthly tools: money, influence, or human wisdom. Yet, the things of God require a heavenly perspective, a divine lens that only God Himself provides.

Jesus Speaks from Heaven’s Authority

Verse 13 says, “No man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven…” Jesus alone speaks with authority. He is not repeating secondhand stories; He is revealing the Father from firsthand experience.

Just as an astronaut could describe space better than someone reading a book on astronomy, Jesus communicates heaven’s truth because He has lived it. Only He can bridge the gap between our world and God’s eternal kingdom.

Only the Son Can Reveal the Father

Jesus is not just a messenger; He is the message. Salvation is His design, and He alone can explain it fully. The blueprint of redemption is too complex for us to understand without Him. Only the architect knows every detail, every purpose, every plan—and He willingly shares it with those who listen and believe.

Illustration: Think of a skyscraper. Builders, engineers, and workers follow the plans, but only the architect truly understands why every beam, every wire, every pipe is placed exactly where it is. Jesus is the Architect of salvation. He alone knows why the cross was necessary and why His resurrection secures our eternal life.

Conclusion

From earth to heaven, only Jesus is qualified to lead us into eternal life. No amount of human effort, intelligence, or ritual can reach what He alone has accomplished. Heaven’s truth requires heaven’s messenger.

The question today is not whether you know about Jesus, but whether you trust Him as the One qualified to save you.

If you are ready to stop relying on earthly wisdom and place your faith in the only One who can save, I invite you now to respond.

Pray in your heart:

"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I cannot reach heaven on my own. You are the only One qualified to save me. I believe in You, I receive Your salvation, and I surrender my life to You. Thank You for revealing the Father to me. Amen."

If you prayed that sincerely, you have taken the first step from earth to heaven. Stand on the truth that salvation is not earned, but received through Jesus Christ alone.

SCRIPTURE KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT SALVATION IS ZERO

Knowing Scripture Without Knowing Salvation is zero

Text: John 3:10 

“Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?”

Introduction

In this encounter, Jesus speaks to Nicodemus—a respected teacher, a man of position, a custodian of Scripture. Yet, despite his deep knowledge, he lacked spiritual understanding.

This exposes a dangerous reality:

It is possible to know the Bible and still not know God.

1. Position Does Not Equal Perception

Nicodemus was a “master of Israel”—a teacher, a leader, a guide. But Jesus questioned his understanding.

Titles, offices, and years in the church do not automatically produce spiritual insight.

You can be:

A pastor without perception

A worker without revelation

A teacher without transformation

Spiritual perception is not inherited by position—it is birthed by revelation.

2. Teaching Truth Does Not Guarantee Living Truth

Nicodemus taught others about God, yet he did not grasp the reality of being “born again.”

There is a difference between:

Explaining Scripture and experiencing Scripture

Quoting truth and living truth

Many today can preach holiness but struggle privately.

They can explain salvation but have never truly surrendered.

You can guide others to a place you have never personally entered.

3. Experience Completes Knowledge

Jesus introduced Nicodemus to a deeper reality—spiritual rebirth.

Knowledge informs, but experience transforms.

Until truth becomes personal, it remains theoretical.

Salvation is not:

*A concept to study                *A doctrine to debate

It is:

*A life to receive                    *A transformation to experience

You must be born again—not just well-informed.

Illustration

A swimming instructor who never enters the water can teach technique—but not survival.

In the same way, someone may teach Scripture eloquently, yet lack the life-saving experience of salvation.

*Information without transformation is incomplete faith.

Conclusion & Call

God is not impressed by how much Scripture you can quote—

He is concerned with how deeply you have been changed.

Ask yourself:

Do I know about Christ, or do I truly know Him?

THE NON-NEGOTIABLE NEW BIRTH

Text: John 3:3
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Theme: No New Birth, No New Sight

INTRODUCTION

In this powerful encounter, Jesus meets Nicodemus—a man of reputation, religion, and respect. He was not a sinner in the obvious sense; he was a teacher, a Pharisee, a leader. Yet, despite all his credentials, Jesus confronted him with a truth that dismantles human pride:

Salvation is not optional. It is not negotiable.

Nicodemus came with knowledge, but left with a revelation:
Without the new birth, nothing else qualifies you for God’s kingdom.

This same message speaks to us today.
Not your church attendance, not your title, not your morality—but your spiritual birth determines your destiny.

1. “Except” — No Alternative Path

The word “except” is a divine boundary. It shuts every other door.

Jesus did not say “maybe,” “perhaps,” or “try your best.”
He said EXCEPT—meaning:

• No alternatives
• No substitutions
• No negotiations

Not:

• Religion
• Good works
• Church titles
• Moral living

Morality cannot replace regeneration.
A clean outward life does not equal a changed inward nature.

* You can be applauded on earth and still be rejected in heaven.

Salvation is exclusive in method—not everyone likes it, but everyone must submit to it.

2. “Born Again” — A New Origin, not Self-Improvement

To be born again is not to be improved—it is to be transformed.

Christianity is not:

• Behavior modification
• Self-discipline alone
• Turning over a new leaf

It is:

• Spiritual resurrection
• A new life from God
• A divine transformation

Not reforming the old man,
But becoming a new man entirely.

Just as physical birth introduces you into the natural world,
Spiritual birth introduces you into the kingdom of God.

*God is not repairing your old nature—He is replacing it.

3. “Cannot See” — Spiritual Blindness Without New Birth

Jesus makes it clear:
Without the new birth, a man cannot see the kingdom of God.

This speaks of spiritual blindness.

You may:

• Hear sermons but not understand
• Read Scripture but not grasp truth
• Sit in church but remain outside the kingdom

Because spiritual things require spiritual life.

The kingdom is not understood intellectually first—it is experienced spiritually first.

*You don’t reason your way into salvation—you are born into it.

ILLUSTRATION

A baby does not learn how to be born.

Birth is not:

• An achievement
• A skill
• A reward

It is a miracle.

In the same way:

• You don’t earn salvation
• You don’t qualify for it by effort

You receive it by grace.

Just as no one gives birth to themselves,
no one saves themselves.

*Seeing God’s kingdom requires receiving God’s life.

CONCLUSION / CALL

No matter who you are:

• Religious or irreligious
• Educated or uneducated
• Moral or immoral

The verdict of Jesus remains unchanged:

“Except a man be born again…”

• No new birth → No new life
• No new birth → No new sight
• No new birth → No entrance into the kingdom

The question is not:
“Are you good?”

The real question is:
“Have you been born again?”

CLOSING CHARGE

Do not settle for:

• Knowledge without experience
• Religion without regeneration
• Church activity without spiritual reality

Today, receive the life of God—
and your eyes will be opened.

ALTAR CALL

If you are here and you have not truly experienced the new birth,
this is your moment.

Do not delay.
Do not assume.
Do not pretend.

Say this from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I come to You today.
I acknowledge that I cannot save myself.
I believe You died for my sins and rose again.
Come into my life.
Change my nature.
Give me new birth.
I receive Your life today.
I am born again in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

PRAYERS

1. Prayer for New Birth
   Father, let everyone under this message experience genuine salvation. Remove every spiritual blindness and bring us into Your kingdom in Jesus’ name.
2. Prayer for Transformation
   Lord, replace every old nature with Your divine nature. Let there be a real and lasting change in our lives.
3. Prayer for Spiritual Sight
   Open our eyes to see Your truth, Your kingdom, and Your will clearly.

   Father, give every believer confidence and assurance of their salvation in Christ.

THE REMEDY FOR THE WOUNDED

The only Remedy 

The presence of God is the only remedy for wounded people.

Introduction

The world is full of wounded people—emotionally wounded, spiritually wounded, financially wounded, and physically wounded. Many carry hidden pain behind smiles. Programs cannot heal such wounds; philosophies cannot restore broken hearts.

The real remedy for wounded humanity is the presence of God.

Whenever the presence of God shows up, healing begins. Wherever God's presence is absent, wounds remain.

Jesus demonstrated this truth everywhere He went. The broken came to Him, and they left whole.

Psalm 147:3 — “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Compassion Is the Door that brings God's Presence to the Wounded

Compassion means feeling the pain of others and responding with love.

Jesus did not just see crowds; He felt their pain.

Matthew 9:36 — “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”

Compassion always precedes divine intervention.

When Jesus had compassion:

• The blind received sight.

• The sick were healed.

• The hungry were fed.

• The oppressed were delivered.

Compassion attracts the presence of God into human suffering.

The Presence of God is the only true Remedy for wounded people

Psychology can advise.
Friends can comfort.
Medicine can treat.

But only the presence of God can truly heal the inner wounds of the heart.

In the Bible, whenever God's presence appeared:

• Chains were broken.

• Hearts were restored.

• Lives were transformed.

Example:
When David played the harp, the presence of God drove away the tormenting spirit from Saul (1 Samuel 16:23).

The presence of God heals wounds that no human hand can reach.

Tears reveal where God wants to use you

Your tears are not weakness; they are divine indicators.

Tears are clues to where God will use you the most.

• If your heart breaks for the poor, God may send you to them.

• If your heart breaks for lost souls, God may call you into evangelism.

• If your heart breaks for broken families, God may use you to restore homes.

God often calls people through compassion.

Example:

• Moses saw the suffering of Israel and was moved to deliver them.

• Nehemiah wept over the broken walls of Jerusalem before rebuilding them.

Nehemiah 1:4 — “When I heard these things, I sat down and wept…”

The burden you feel today may be the assignment God is placing on your life.

Love for people is the Foundation of Leadership

Leadership is not about position; it is about love for people.

If you truly love people, you will:

• Pray for them

• Sacrifice for them

• Guide them

• Protect them

Jesus led thousands because He loved them deeply.

John 21:17 — “Feed my sheep.”

Many people want influence without compassion, but true leadership flows from genuine love for people.

If you have a heart for people, God will entrust people to you.

Compassion produces influence.

Conclusion

God is looking for people who will carry His heart of compassion.

The world does not just need preachers.
The world needs people who carry God's presence and love wounded souls.

Where there is compassion:

• Healing will flow

• Restoration will begin

• Lives will change

Your tears may be God revealing your ministry.

Altar Call

Today, God may be touching your heart.

Maybe you have become hardened by life.
Maybe pain has closed your heart to others.
Maybe you need the healing presence of God yourself.

Jesus still looks at people today with compassion.

He sees your wounds.
He sees your struggles.
He sees your tears.

And He is ready to heal you.

If you want to receive the healing presence of God and allow Him to fill your heart with compassion, lift your hands and pray:

“Lord Jesus, I come to You today. Heal every wound in my heart. Fill me with Your presence and give me a heart of compassion for people. Use my life to bring healing to the wounded. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

CHAMPIONS FOUGHT TO WIN

FIGHT TO BECOME A CHAMPION

Text: Romans 8:19 “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”

INTRODUCTION

Life in the kingdom of God is not passive; it is a spiritual battle for manifestation. Champions are not born in comfort—they are produced through conflict, discipline, and persistence. The world is waiting for people who will rise above limitations and manifest the glory of God.

Romans 8:19 reveals a powerful truth: creation is waiting for champions—people who will rise into their God-given destiny. But manifestation requires spiritual warfare and deliberate action.

A champion is someone who refuses to remain ordinary. If you refuse to fight, you cannot become great.

Illustration

In athletics, no one becomes a champion by merely wishing. A boxer becomes a champion by training, enduring blows, and refusing to give up. Likewise, spiritual champions are produced in the arena of faith, obedience, and spiritual warfare.

1. CHAMPIONS FIGHT FOR MANIFESTATION

Romans 8:19 “The earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”

Creation is waiting for believers to rise and manifest God’s power and wisdom. But manifestation requires effort.

Jesus taught the principle of productivity in Matthew 25:14–30 (The Parable of the Talents).

The servants who multiplied their talents were rewarded, but the servant who buried his talent lost everything.

Lesson: God gives opportunities, ideas, and abilities, but we must fight to develop and multiply them.

When you pay your tithe, do not expect money to fall from heaven. The tithe positions you for divine ideas, opportunities, and wisdom.

Illustration: In Israel, rainfall historically occurs only a few times each year. Yet Israel is one of the world's agricultural innovators because they use irrigation systems and technology. Instead of waiting for rain, they apply God-given ideas.

Ideas rule the world.
When heaven opens over you, it releases wisdom and creativity.

2. CHAMPIONS DESTROY THE ENEMY EARLY

Ecclesiastes 11:4 “He that observeth the wind shall not sow…”

Delaying battle empowers the enemy.

The enemy you spare today may destroy you tomorrow.

The serpent in Genesis 3 appears small and harmless, but by Revelation 12:9 it becomes the great dragon.

Small compromises grow into destructive forces if not confronted early.

3. CHAMPIONS START EARLY

Ezra 7:10 “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it…”

Ezra became a record-breaking reformer because he prepared himself early.

Esther 3:7 and Exodus 12:2 show the importance of understanding timing and seasons.

Illustration: Great people do not wait for perfect conditions; they start preparing before opportunities appear.

Early discipline produces future greatness.

4. BEFORE YOU RISE, YOU MUST DEFEAT CERTAIN SPIRITS

Every champion faces spiritual battles before reaching the top.

1. The Spirit of Weariness

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not be weary in well doing…”

Weariness causes many to quit before their breakthrough.

2. The Spirit of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear…”

Fear is one of the greatest enemies of destiny.

3. The Spirit of Sickness -Isaiah 38:1–5 (King Hezekiah)

Hezekiah refused to accept death and prayed until God added 15 more years to his life.

Champions fight even for their health.

4. Foundational Powers (Bloodline Battles) -Exodus 3–12 (Moses vs Pharaoh)

Moses confronted the oppressive system that held Israel captive for generations.

Many destinies must fight generational limitations before rising.

5. The Flesh -2 Samuel 11 (David and Bathsheba)

David was a great king, but nearly destroyed his destiny through fleshly weakness.

A champion must defeat lust, pride, and uncontrolled desires.

6. The Spirit of Sin

Romans 3:23 -“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

Sin separates us from God and weakens spiritual authority

7. Ancestral Altars and Family Curses

Judges 6:25–26 (Gideon)

Before Gideon could deliver Israel, God told him to destroy his father’s altar to Baal.

Deliverance sometimes begins with tearing down inherited spiritual structures.

CONCLUSION

God is raising champions in this generation.

Champions are people who:

• Refuse to surrender to weariness

• Confront, fear and sickness

• Destroy foundational battles

• Discipline their flesh

• Reject sin

• Break ancestral limitations

Remember: If you don’t fight, you cannot become a champion.

The world is waiting for your manifestation.

ALTAR CALL

Salvation Call:  You cannot become a champion in God's kingdom without surrendering your life to Jesus Christ.

Jesus fought the greatest battle on the cross so that we could become victorious.

If you want to give your life to Christ today, pray:

Prayer

“Lord Jesus,
I come before You today.
I confess that I am a sinner.
I believe You died for my sins and rose again.
Today I surrender my life to You.
Be my Lord and Savior.
Write my name in the Book of Life.
In Jesus' name, Amen.”

2. Prayer for Spiritual Victory

Lift your hands and pray:

“Lord, every spirit fighting my destiny—fear, weariness, sickness, ancestral powers—
Today I receive victory in the name of Jesus!”

3. Prayer for Manifestation

“Father, let the world see Your glory through my life.
Release divine ideas, wisdom, and power that will make me a champion in Jesus' name!”

CAN YOU BE TRUSTED BY GOD?

 

COURAGE AND QUALITIES OF A LEADER

Text: 1 Kings 18:1–40

Introduction

Leadership in God’s kingdom is not defined by position, popularity, or numbers. True leadership is defined by courage, conviction, and obedience to God.

In the days of the prophet Elijah, Israel had fallen into deep spiritual rebellion. Under the wicked influence of Ahab and Jezebel, the nation had turned to the worship of Baal.

There were 850 false prophets promoting idolatry (1 Kings 18:19), while only one prophet stood boldly for God. Yet Elijah did not retreat. He confronted the entire nation at Mount Carmel.

This story teaches us that when the fire of God burns inside a leader, the fire of God will eventually fall upon his ministry.

Courageous leadership attracts divine intervention.

1. The Fire Comes When We Know Our Message Is From God (v.1)

God told Elijah to present himself to Ahab and promised to send rain upon the earth.

A leader must first be sure of God’s voice before confronting the world.

Elijah did not move by emotion, popularity, or pressure.
He moved by divine instruction.

Illustration:
A soldier goes into battle confidently when he carries orders from his commander. Likewise, when a leader carries God’s word, he can stand against any opposition.

2. The Fire Comes When We Stand for What is Right regardless of the Cost (vv.2–20)

Elijah stood before a corrupt king and challenged the prophets of Baal.

True leadership requires moral courage.

Elijah risked:

• His reputation

• His safety

• His life

Yet he refused to compromise.

Illustration:
Just as David stood before Goliath, Elijah stood before 850 prophets.

Great victories come when one person refuses to bow.

3. The Fire Comes When Our Need Is the Greatest (vv.2,5,21,22)

Israel was experiencing a devastating drought. The land was dry, crops had failed, and people were suffering.

Sometimes God allows crises so people will recognize their need for Him.

Elijah stood alone and declared:
“I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord.”

But one person with God is a majority. We too at that places you have been placed, you should be able to stand by God.

4. The Fire Comes When We Take Our Message to the People (vv.20–21)

Elijah did not keep silent.

He confronted the people and asked:

“How long will you halt between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him.”

Leadership requires speaking truth to spiritually undecided people.

A real leader does not entertain confusion; he clarifies truth.

5. The Fire Comes When We Bring People to a Point of Decision (v.21)

The people were living in compromise.

They wanted God and Baal at the same time.

Elijah forced them to choose.

God always calls people to decision, not indecision.

Illustration:
A bridge either carries you across or it does not. You cannot stand in the middle forever.

6. The Fire Comes When We Repair the Altar of God (vv.23–32)

Elijah rebuilt the broken altar of the Lord.

The altar represents:

• Worship

• Prayer

• Relationship with God

Before revival can come, the altar must be restored.

Many lives today need their spiritual altars repaired.

7. The Fire Comes When We Face Situations Only God Can Solve (vv.33–35)

Elijah soaked the sacrifice with water three times.

The altar, wood, and sacrifice were drenched.

Humanly speaking, fire could never burn that offering.

But Elijah intentionally created a situation where only God could receive the credit.

God often waits until situations become humanly impossible before He acts.

8. The Fire Comes When We Publicly Trust God (vv.33–37)

Elijah prayed openly before the people.

His prayer was simple and direct:

“Hear me, O Lord… that this people may know that You are God.”

Faith must sometimes be demonstrated publicly.

When leaders trust God openly, God answers powerfully.

9. The Fire Comes When We Desire God to Receive the Glory (vv.36–39)

Elijah’s prayer was not about his reputation.

His concern was God’s glory.

When the fire fell, the people cried:

“The Lord, He is God!”

True leaders seek God’s honor, not personal recognition.

10. The Fire Comes When We Desire People to Return to God (v.37)

Elijah’s ultimate goal was restoration.

He prayed that the people's hearts would turn back to God.

Leadership in ministry is not about defeating enemies, but about restoring people to God.

And when Elijah prayed, the fire of the Lord fell.

The sacrifice was consumed, the altar burned, and the people repented.

Conclusion

The courage of Elijah teaches us that one leader filled with God’s fire can change a nation.

God still searches for leaders who will:

• Stand for truth

• Repair the altar

• Trust God publicly

• Seek His glory

• Lead people back to Him

When these qualities exist, the fire of God will fall again.

Altar Call

Tonight God is asking three questions:

1. Are there people who need the fire of God in their lives again?
Your spiritual altar may be broken, but God can restore it today.

2. Are there believers who have been living between two opinions?
You cannot follow God and the world at the same time.

3. Is God calling someone to courageous leadership like Elijah?
God is looking for men and women who will stand for Him.

Just as the people declared on Mount Carmel,

“The Lord, He is God!”

Let that declaration come from your heart today.

Come to the altar, surrender your life to God, and ask Him to send His fire again.

THE LAWS OF INFLUENCE

THE LAWS OF INFLUENCE

Text: First Book of Kings 18:27–38

Influence is the ability to move people toward a purpose. In leadership and ministry, influence is more powerful than position. A person may hold a title yet lack influence, but when a man truly carries influence from God, people listen, respond, and act.

In this passage, the prophet Elijah stood alone on Mount Carmel against the prophets of Baal. Though he was outnumbered, when Elijah spoke, people responded. When he prayed, God answered with fire.

This passage reveals the laws of spiritual influence—the qualities that make a leader’s voice carry weight.

1. The Law of Courage – The Willingness to Stand Alone

Elijah stood alone against 850 false prophets (1 Kings 18:19). Yet he did not compromise or retreat.

Courage is the foundation of influence. A fearful leader cannot lead people into God’s purposes.

Illustration:
Think of a lighthouse in a storm. While waves crash and winds roar, the lighthouse stands firm and guides ships to safety. Elijah was that lighthouse for Israel.

Lesson:
People follow leaders who are not afraid to stand for truth, even when the crowd is against them.

2. The Law of Conviction – Passion for What You Believe

Elijah believed deeply that the God of Israel was the true God. His faith was not theoretical; it burned inside him.

When he said in verse 27, “Cry aloud!”, the prophets of Baal obeyed. Later when he told the people, “Come near to me,” they came (v.30).

Conviction gives authority to your voice.

Biblical Illustration:
Daniel refused to stop praying even when it meant the lions’ den. His conviction influenced kings and nations.

Lesson:
A person who truly believes something will speak with a power that moves others.

3. The Law of Character – Integrity Builds Trust

Elijah’s life backed up his message. The people knew he was not a manipulator or a false prophet.

Character creates credibility. People listen longer to leaders whose lives match their words.

Illustration:
A cracked vessel cannot hold water. In the same way, a leader without integrity cannot sustain influence.

Lesson:
Your influence grows when your lifestyle confirms your message.

4. The Law of Connection – Drawing People Toward God

In verse 30 Elijah said, “Come near to me.” The people gathered around him as he rebuilt the altar of the Lord.

Great leaders connect people not only to themselves but also to God.

Elijah rebuilt the broken altar, symbolizing the restoration of Israel’s relationship with God.

Lesson:
True influence points people upward, not inward.

5. The Law of Credibility – Results Confirm Authority

Finally Elijah prayed:

“Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God.” (1 Kings 18:37)

Then fire fell from heaven and consumed the sacrifice.

Results validated Elijah’s ministry. God Himself confirmed the prophet’s words.

Biblical Illustration:
When Moses stretched his rod over the Red Sea, the waters parted. The miracle confirmed God’s power working through him.

Lesson:
When God backs a person, their influence becomes undeniable.

Conclusion

The influence of Elijah did not come from popularity or position. It came from five spiritual laws:

1. Courage – standing alone for God

2. Conviction – passion for truth

3. Character – integrity of life

4. Connection – drawing people to God

5. Credibility – God confirming the work

The world does not need more loud voices; it needs voices backed by God’s fire.

Today God is still looking for men and women like Elijah—people who will stand boldly for Him.

Perhaps your altar is broken. Like Israel, your heart may have drifted away from God. But the same God who answered by fire is ready to restore you.

If you desire:

• a renewed relationship with God

• courage to stand for righteousness

• influence that brings people closer to God

Then lift your heart to Him today.

Prayer:
“Lord, rebuild the broken altar of my life. Give me courage, conviction, character, and credibility. Let Your fire fall upon my life so that others may know You are God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

WHAT AND WHERE YOU ARE POSITIONED MATTERS

PLACES or POSITION MATTERS 

Text: Acts 1:12–15; Genesis 2:8

Introduction

Beloved, one truth many people overlook in life and in destiny is that places matter. In the wisdom of God, location often determines manifestation. Before God ever made man, He first prepared a place.

In Genesis 2:8, the Bible says that God planted a garden in Eden and there He placed the man He had formed. This shows us that God is a God of order. He prepares environments before He releases destinies.

Many people pray for blessings, breakthroughs, and favour, but sometimes the issue is not prayer — it is positioning.

You may be the right person, but in the wrong place.
You may carry grace, but in the wrong environment.

Where you are can be as important as who you are.

God Blesses People in the Right Place

When Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave a very specific instruction. In Acts 1:4–5, He told His followers to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father.

Scripture tells us that about 500 people heard the instruction, but only 120 obeyed and gathered in the Upper Room.

Only those who were in the right place received the Holy Spirit in Acts 2.

The others may have believed the promise, but they were absent from the place of fulfillment.

Rain may fall everywhere, but only those standing outside feel the rain most.

God's blessings often have locations attached to them.

Favour Requires Visibility

Another powerful truth is this: Nobody receives favour unless they are seen.

Throughout scripture, divine favour was released when someone was noticed.

Joseph

In Genesis 41, Joseph had been in prison for years. His destiny did not change until Pharaoh saw him.

The moment Joseph appeared before Pharaoh, his life changed in one day. From prisoner to prime minister.

Ruth

Ruth was simply gleaning in a field until Boaz saw her (Ruth 2:5–8). That moment of recognition changed her story forever.

Blind Bartimaeus

In Mark 10:46–52, the blind man cried out until Jesus stopped and noticed him. His miracle began the moment Jesus paid attention.

Moses

Baby Moses was floating in a basket in the river until Pharaoh's daughter saw him (Exodus 2:5–6). That sight triggered compassion and protection.

Beloved, visibility attracts favour.

You cannot be hidden in the wrong place and expect the right opportunities.

Geography Controls the Flow of Favour

Where you are can influence what comes to you.

There are places where your gift is ignored, and there are places where your gift is celebrated.

There are environments that suppress destiny, and environments that activate destiny.

Joseph’s dream was mocked in his father’s house, but it was fulfilled in Egypt.

David was overlooked in his father's house, but he was discovered in the field.

Sometimes God relocates people to unlock their destiny.

One Day of Favour Is Worth a Thousand Days of Labour

The Bible shows us that favour can accelerate destiny.

Joseph laboured in prison for years, but one day before Pharaoh changed everything.

Esther was an orphan, but one moment of favour before the king crowned her queen.

Psalm 30:5 reminds us that joy can come in the morning.

When divine favour locates a person, what would take years can happen in a moment.

That is why positioning matters.

Go Where You Are Celebrated

One important wisdom principle is this:

Go where you are celebrated, not where you are tolerated.

Jesus Himself demonstrated this.

In Matthew 13:57, when people rejected Him in His hometown, the Bible says He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

Even the Son of God did not force Himself where He was not received.

There are places where people value your grace, and there are places where they despise it.

Wisdom tells you to discern the difference.

A Daily Question for Destiny

Every day, we should ask a powerful question:

“Lord, to whom have I been sent today?”

Because destiny is often fulfilled through divine connections.

Philip was sent to the Ethiopian eunuch.
Ananias was sent to Saul.
Peter was sent to Cornelius.

When you meet the right people in the right place, divine purpose unfolds.

Conclusion

Beloved, places matter.

God prepares places before He reveals people.

Your miracle may not only be in what you do, but where God positions you.

You may be one connection, one encounter, or one location away from divine favour.

Do not underestimate the power of positioning.

Ask God to lead you to the right place, at the right time, with the right people.

Because when God positions you correctly, favour will locate you.

Altar Call

There may be someone here today who feels lost, misplaced, or disconnected from God's purpose.

The first and most important positioning in life is being rightly positioned with God.

Sin separates us from God, but Jesus Christ came to restore us.

He died on the cross and rose again so that we can have a new life and a new destiny.

Today, God is calling you to the right place — a relationship with Him.

If you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ and be rightly positioned in God's plan, lift your heart to Him and pray:

Prayer of Salvation

"Lord Jesus,
I come to You today.
I confess that I am a sinner.
I believe You died for me and rose again.
Forgive my sins and cleanse my heart.
Today I receive You as my Lord and Savior.
From today, I belong to You.
Guide my life and position me in Your purpose.
In Jesus' name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, your life has begun a new journey with God.

May the Lord position you in the place of favour, purpose, and destiny.

Amen.

PRAYERS FOR JOY UNSPEAKABLE

1. CHOSE ME FOR JOY UNSPEAKABLE LORD JESUS;

God ladden my soul with your divine goodness. 

2. Give me the joy of activated destiny in Jesus name; that the plans of God in my life night be fulfilled. 

3. Give me the joy of divine advertisement; let my glory arise from you in Jesus name. 

4. Give the joy of being a blessing to my family, company and country to me in Jesus name; consecrate me for exploits and miracles. 

5. Let me know the joy of freedom and restoration in Jesus name. 

6. Assign to me the joys of your salvation, O Lord of hosts; make me a vessel of joy to my generation in Jesus name. 

7. Make me enter into overflowing blessings in Jesus name. 

8. Establish the gladness of your heart in my life today,

 God of Israel; let your radiant essence overwhelm me in Jesus name. 

9. Continuously dwell within me Lord Jesus; let me experience your divine presence in my life all my life. 

10. Let all the sorrow,

 anguish, disappointment and pain of my past serve to elevate me for greatness and turn my travails into joy everlasting for your glory and adoration in the mighty name of Jesus Name.

WHEN RELIGION NOT ENOUGH

Text: John 3:1 “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.”

TOPIC: “When Religion is not Enough”

Introduction: This verse started with and introduction on how Jesus taught in parables. The definition of religion is "the opium of the rich to oppress the poor". For centuries, we have been hearing some sects professing a certain movement or course .but in most cases when their leaders died, their followers scattered.

 “There was a man…” – Salvation Is Personal

• Nicodemus is not a crowd; he is an individual.

• Being born again begins when a person realizes something is missing.

• God deals with us one heart at a time.

“Of the Pharisees…” – Religious but not Regenerated

• Nicodemus knew Scripture, law, and tradition.

• Knowledge of God is not the same as new life from God.

• You can be deeply religious and still spiritually empty.

“Named Nicodemus…” – God Knows You by Name

• Jesus didn’t see him as a label, but as a soul.

• God is not intimidated by your status or impressed by your résumé.

• He calls us by name because He wants relationship, not performance.

“A ruler of the Jews” – Position cannot replace Transformation

• Authority, influence, and respect cannot produce new birth.

• External success does not cure internal death.

• The higher you climb outwardly, the more obvious your inward need becomes.

You don’t need to be bad to need the new birth—you just need to be human.

Imagine a man driving a luxury car with a dead engine. The leather seats are perfect. The dashboard is polished. The sound system works. But no matter how impressive the exterior looks, the car will not move.

Nicodemus was like that car—beautifully detailed religion, but no Spiritual engine. So many of us.
Jesus didn’t come to decorate Nicodemus’ life.
He came to resurrect it like wise he is also calling you to resurrect your life.

• Church attendance cannot replace new birth.

• Titles cannot substitute for transformation.

• Being born again is not an upgrade—it is a rebirth.

CELEBRATING GRACE

THE EMBITTERED BROTHER

Text: Gospel of Luke 15:25–32.

Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and drew near the house, he heard music and dancing. And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has got him back safe and sound’. 

“And he was angry and would not go in. So his father came out, and begged him. And in answer he said to his father: ‘Look, all these years I have slaved for you, and never disobeyed an order of yours. And yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But as soon as this son of yours comes, who has consumed your possessions with prostitutes, for him you killed the fattened calf!’ 

“And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right for us to celebrate and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead, and is alive again, and was lost, and is found’”. 

Luke 15:25-32

Introduction

Truly if one looks at the prodigal son story, he had collected and squandered his inheritance. But we are talking about a soul here not material things.The elder brother represents religious pride.

Outward Obedience, Inward Bitterness (v.29)

“Lo, these many years do I serve thee.”

Service without intimacy produces resentment. The elder brother is serving his father for what he is to gain but there is no intimacy. So it is with many old believers when they see new members being active and useful in the church, they become uncomfortable and embittered.

He refuse to Celebrate Grace. He could not rejoice over repentance.

The Father’s Appeal (v.31)

“Son, thou art ever with me.”

The elder brother was also disconnected emotionally. God presence is more than material things, that should be what we should crave for.

In churches today, some long-time members struggle or discontented when new converts receive attention. 

Religious comparison can block compassion.

Conclusion

You can be in the Father’s house and still not understand the Father’s heart. This message reveals:

A Shepherd who searches for only one lost sheep while leaving other 99;

A Woman who sweeps- searching for one misplaced coin,

A Father who receives, and a Heaven that rejoices over one repentant sinner.

God seeks the wandering. God values the forgotten. God restores the broken hearted. God corrects the self-righteous.

ALTAR CALL:

Which character are you?

The wandering sheep?

The buried coin?

The rebellious son?

The resentful brother?

Today: Return to God and repent and heaven will rejoice over your life.

Heaven is ready to celebrate you.

THE REBELLIOUS SON

Text: Gospel of Luke 15:11–19.

"And he said, “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share in the estate coming to me’. And he divided his property between them. 

“And not many days later the younger son gathered everything together, and went off to a far country. There he wasted his resources in wild living. And when he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in need. And he went and attached himself to a citizen of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. And he longed to fill his stomach with the husks that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. 

“And when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread and I am dying from hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and against you, and am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired men’. ”

Luke 15:11-19

Introduction

This is not just the story of a prodigal son — it is the story of a broken relationship. This story shows the fallen state of man and revealed the heart of God towards repentant sinners. The life style of this son revealed the state we are at one time before we are restored. 

The Demand (v.12)

“Give me the portion…” There must have been some external influence before this decision is taken. A good example is the daughter of Jacob (Dinah) in the book of Genesis. This son look at it that he need freedom, and we see the outcome of his decision. Rebellion begins with self-centeredness.

The Departure (v.13)

“Into a far country.” He did not even stayed close to the father, who can monitor and correct him where and when necessary. He went to a distance country. Sin creates distance.

The Degradation (v.16)

Feeding pigs — is a shame for a Jewish boy (a child of God). Sometimes at the time that some children engaged themselves in money rituals without looking at the consequences. At the end, they end their lives in sorrows and pains. Sin promises freedom but produces bondage.

The Awakening (v.17)

“He came to himself.” When eating husk meant for pigs, we are not told for how long he had been in this mess. But when he realized his mistakes, he took a bold step. That is what is expected of you today, God is all out to take sinners that are ready to take a bold step of repentance back to Him. Many atimes, some will be ashamed of what people or their peers will be talking about them and that's what made many people remains in their sin or problem perpetually. Repentance begins with realization.

Many youths left home seeking quick wealth in big cities like Lagos or abroad. Some end up in hardship, regretting the pride that pushed them away from wise counsel.

Conclusion

You can go far from home, but you can never go beyond God’s mercy. And that mercy is waiting for you. God is a merciful God.

Are you in a far country spiritually?

Have you made decisions that separated you from God? Today is your turning point.

The Father is not waiting with a cane — He is waiting with open arms.

Today; Return and Repent; and the host of Angel will rejoice because of you.

Heaven is ready to celebrate you.
