Endure to the End

Text:
“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” — The Gospel of Matthew 24:12–13

Introduction

We are living in a time where evil is celebrated, truth is questioned, and many hearts are becoming weary. People are offended easily, relationships are breaking, faith is declining, and love is fading. Jesus warned us that in the last days, lawlessness would increase and the love of many would grow cold.

But in the middle of this warning, Christ gives a promise of hope:

“He who endures to the end will be saved.”

God is not calling us to quit. He is calling us to endure.

1. The Danger of a Cold Heart

Jesus said the love of many would grow cold. Notice He did not say the love of a few. Many people who once burned with passion for God would become spiritually cold.

A cold heart develops gradually:

• Through disappointment
• Through sin and compromise
• Through bitterness and unforgiveness
• Through constant exposure to evil
• Through neglect of prayer and God’s Word

When love grows cold:

• Worship becomes routine
• Prayer becomes a burden
• Compassion disappears
• Faith weakens
• Sin becomes acceptable

The enemy’s goal is not only to attack your body or finances; his goal is to extinguish your fire for God.

But today, God is calling His people back to spiritual passion.

2. Lawlessness Is Increasing, But God Is Still Sovereign

We see corruption, violence, immorality, deception, and rebellion everywhere. Yet none of this surprises God. Jesus already told us these things would happen.

Darkness may increase, but light still shines brighter.

The church must not imitate the world. We are called to stand firm in holiness, truth, and love. While others compromise, believers must remain faithful.

Do not let the condition of the world change your devotion to God.

3. Endurance Is the Mark of True Faith

Jesus did not say, “He who starts well.”
He said, “He who endures to the end.”

Many people begin the Christian journey excited, but endurance is tested:

• During trials
• During delays
• During persecution
• During temptation
• During seasons of silence

Real faith keeps moving even when the road is hard.

Endurance means:

• Praying when you feel weak
• Trusting God when you do not understand
• Remaining faithful when others walk away
• Holding onto truth when culture rejects it

God rewards those who remain steadfast.

4. How Do We Endure?

Stay Connected to God

Prayer keeps your spirit alive. A believer who stops praying becomes spiritually vulnerable.

Remain in the Word

The Word of God strengthens faith and renews the mind.

Guard Your Heart

Do not allow bitterness, offense, or worldly influences to poison your spirit.

Fellowship with Believers

Isolation weakens believers, but godly fellowship brings encouragement and strength.

Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

People may fail you, but Christ never fails.

5. There Is a Reward for Those Who Endure

The promise is clear:

“He who endures to the end will be saved.”

This is not the time to give up. Heaven is real. God is faithful. Your labor is not in vain.

The trials of today cannot compare with the glory that awaits those who remain faithful to Christ.

You may feel tired, discouraged, or attacked, but God is able to sustain you. The same God who kept Daniel in the lions’ den, protected the three Hebrew boys in the fire, and strengthened Paul in prison will also keep you.

Hold on.
✔️Keep believing.
✔️Keep praying.
✔️Keep loving God.
✔️Keep standing.

Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.

Conclusion

The world may grow colder, but your heart must keep burning for God.

Do not allow fear, sin, or disappointment to separate you from Christ. Stand firm in faith and endure with courage.

At the end of the race, the greatest victory will not be wealth, fame, or earthly success. The greatest victory will be hearing the Lord say:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

May God give us grace to endure to the end. Amen.
