Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1
"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."
Introduction
Life is not a random journey. God is a God of order, and He has appointed a season for every event in our lives. Whether we are experiencing joy or sorrow, abundance or lack, promotion or waiting, every season has a divine purpose. The believer who understands God's timing will not lose hope in difficult seasons or become proud in prosperous seasons.
1. Every Season Is appointed by God
Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that every phase of life has its proper time.
Daniel 2:21 – "He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings."
Psalm 31:15 – "My times are in Your hand."
Lesson:
1. God remains in control of every season of your life.
2. Every Season has a Purpose
Even painful seasons are not meaningless.
Romans 8:28 – God works all things together for good.
James 1:2-4 – Trials produce patience and spiritual maturity.
Genesis 50:20 – Joseph declared, "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good."
Lesson:
Your present season is preparing you for God's greater purpose.
3. Seasons do not last Forever
No difficult season is permanent.
Psalm 30:5 – "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."
Isaiah 43:19 – "Behold, I will do a new thing."
Illustration:
Just as the rainy season gives way to sunshine, every season of sorrow will eventually give way to God's appointed time of rejoicing.
4. Discern your Season
Many people struggle because they fail to recognize the season God has brought them into.
1 Chronicles 12:32 – The sons of Issachar understood the times and knew what Israel should do.
Ephesians 5:15-17 – Redeem the time because the days are evil.
Lesson:
Ask God for wisdom to understand what He expects from you in your current season.
5. Wait Patiently for God's Timing.
Never force what God has not yet released.
Habakkuk 2:3 – The vision will surely come; though it tarries, wait for it.
Isaiah 40:31 – Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Galatians 6:9 – In due season we shall reap if we do not give up.
Conclusion.
Every season of life is under God's control. If today is a season of waiting, trust Him. If it is a season of blessing, remain humble. If it is a season of hardship, remain faithful. God's timing is always perfect, and He makes everything beautiful in His time.
Ecclesiastes 3:11: "He has made everything beautiful in its time."
